In November 2005, by the request of the Organization Committee of the Year of Russian Federation in Armenia, MediaBrand Agency organized and hosted Russian Media Days in Yerevan. The co-organizers of the event were the Russian Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communications and the Guild of Periodical Press Publishers (GIPP).
The Russian delegation consisted of: Head of Russian Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communications Mikhail Seslavinsky, GIPP President Leonid Makaron, General Director and Editor-in-Chief of “Komsomolskaya Pravda” newspaper Vladimir Sungorkin, President of Rodionov Publishing House (“Profile”, “Company” and “Business Week” weekly magazines) Aleksey Volin, Editor-in-Chief of “Ogonyok” magazine Viktor Loshak, Editor-in-Chief of “Sobesednik” newspaper Yuri Pilipenko, First Deputy Chief of “Moskovskiy Komsomolets” newspaper Andrey Lapik, First Deputy Director General of ITAR-TASS News Agency Mikhail Kalmikov, Deputy General Director of RIA Novosti Aleksander Babinsky, Head of the International Division of “Kommersant” Publishing House Leonid Gankin.
A round table of Armenian and Russian publishers and editors-in-chief was held in Golden Palace Hotel. Spokesman for Armenian President Viktor Soghomonian, Head of the Russian Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communications, Mikhail Seslavinsky, GIPP President Leonid Makaron and MediaBrand Director Ara Tadevosian have addressed the round table.
Armenian President Robert Kocharian received the Russian delegation. During the meeting, the President welcomed the growth of contacts between Armenian and Russian media representatives, noting that this can be the beginning of new cooperation initiatives in media.
Within the framework of the Days of Russian Press in Armenia, MediaBrand also organized visits of Russian publishers and editors-in-chief to the Russian-Armenian Slavonic University, where they met with the students. The delegation also visited the Yerevan Brandy Company, where an excursion and a special tasting were organized for the guests.
